- Learning Centre
5 PCs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint each). All free to use, printing is charged at 20c/page.
Study spaces for individual and group study with core reference books and study guides for NCEA subjects. Templates for CVs and a folder with examples of application letters.
- Internet PCs
1 Free Internet (all NZ sites and selected overseas sites) + 3 Paid Internet ( access email + all the Web)
+ NZ Phone Books, Electoral Rolls, Stamp Catalogues, Accomodation Guides & other key reference books.
We're always happy to assist you to use these resources. We can also provide informal help in the use of the Internet, email, basic word processing, putting togther a CV, and of course doing research - whether it's for your Y9 school work or first year university paper.
Please note that if you require lengthy assistance we will schedule a tutorial with you at a negotiated time.
Research Policy
Note that extensive research requests may incur a charge.
We aim to assist with your research to the limit of our expertise and resources. Qualified staff are available to discuss your needs, research approach and useful tools, and show you how to use the materials required. As long as you are involved in doing most of the work no research charge applies (excepting costs of any required copying) even if the enquiry continues over an extended period.
Where however you require Libraries’ staff to carry out the research on your behalf, then charges will apply when the time required is greater than 25 minutes.
The cost will be $25.00 for the first chargeable half-hour and $28.00 for each additional half-hour. Additional charges may be required to meet the costs of reproduction of material or postage. Fees will be discussed with you in advance of any required payment.
