City Libraries is your gateway to the best of the world of e-Resources

As a member of Hutt City Libraries our databases give you free access to thousands of online magazine and newspaper articles, as well as online encyclopaedias and dictionaries.  

In addition the Hutt City Libraries catalogue includes recommended websites relevant to the interests of the Hutt City community including sites for children and teens.   Access to these recommended websites is free.

Access our e-Resources from any Connect computer in all of our eight libraries or from any computer with access to the Internet.

Having free access to databases

To have free access to our databases, you need to be a Hutt City Libraries member and to have a Libraries PIN (Personal Identifier Number).

When you access a database from the Hutt City Libraries catalogue, you need to enter the number from your library card and your PIN.

If you are not a member join online now.

If you are a member but do not have a Libraries PIN, ask staff at any of our eight libraries, it only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

We have worked to identify quality websites in areas such as reading, recreation, learning and citizenship. Our recommended websites include sites of special interest to children and teens. 

We evaluated websites to ensure our recommended sites are relevant to the interests of Hutt City residents, and are authoritative, accurate, objective, well-designed and easy to use.
