Summary:
Photograph showing an aerial view of what must be one of the most elaborate traffic roundabouts in the country. It is still under construction at the southern entrance to Lower Hutt, where it sorts out the traffic of four main roads which meet at awkward angles. After a few doubtful trips round, it makes good sense to local motorists - but, they say, pity strangers taking their first plunge. Landmarks (anti clockwise from left centre) are: Ewen Bridge, Ambulance Station, Woburn Road, St. James Anglican Church, War Memorial Library, Queens Drive and High Street.
