School Holiday Events - April 2018

Join us at Hutt City Libraries during the April school holidays for FREE splashtastic events for tamariki. Super stories, splashy art, Lego fun, watery music, and lots more!

Events are aimed at ages 5-12 unless otherwise specified. View events below or check them out on Facebook.


Wednesday 18 April
Basketball - Booking required. Book in with Centre staff or phone 04 560 1090.

Discover: Minecraft - Get creative and learn the basics of Minecraft at the library. Spaces limited. Book in with Naenae Library staff or phone 04 567 2859. Ages 8-13.

Make a creation for the library's rock pool.

Friday 20 April
Listen to stories that make a SPLASH before working together to create a BIG submarine.

Puddles and Parasols - Rain or shine, these crafts will have you jumping for joy (actual puddles not guaranteed!)

Bringing Art to Everyday Objects - Have an ugly mug or a vase that you don’t really want? Transform it into a piece of art! You’ll need to bring your own mug, vase, or box but all other materials are provided. Ages 12-18.

Join us for a splish-splashy movie. Talk to library staff to find out what it will be!

Inklings - Anzac Day is coming up, so we’re looking at war and peace. Ages 8-12.

Stop Motion Animation Workshop - Learn how to make a simple stop-motion animation. Ages 5+. Spaces are limited. Secure your spot by emailing LibrariesEvents@huttcity.govt.nz.

Visit Petone Library anytime during the school holidays and help them create their very own newspaper!
Report on the local happenings at the library, make up a headline, write a story featuring your favourite characters, draw a cartoon - whatever you want! Budding reporters will have their work featured in the Petone Storyland Gazette.
