The Clubhouse: Where Creativity Meets Imagination

Clubhouses are creative technology spaces for people aged 10-18 and are totally free to use!

The Clubhouse mission is to provide a creative and safe out-of-school learning environment where young people work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop new skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology.

You can create and have fun with robotics, animation, 3D design, arts & crafts, sound recording, video production, graphic design, game creation and lots more.

Naenae and Taita Clubhouses are part an international community of 100 Clubhouses located in 19 countries. The Clubhouse Network is a program of the Museum of Science, Boston in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab. Find out more about Clubhouses from around the world at The Clubhouse Network.

48 Hours Film Competition 2018

Our two Clubhouses were back again in 2018 to be challenged by the 48 Hours Film Competition!

Neither of our films made the New Zealand finals, but Naenae Clubhouse was nominated once again for Best Original Song and this year also for Best Use of Silhouette!

Want to see what our super talented film makers did this year?

You can also check out their films from 2017:

Illuminating Naenae

For the Hutt Winter Festival in July 2017 Naenae Clubhouse created an Illuminating Naenae bike tour of some astonishing Naenae historical sites. Participants made their bikes sparkle before hitting the road to discover the stories behind significant areas in Naenae.

You can now take the tour at any time using the podcasts created by Naenae Clubhouse! See the Mayor of Wellington's Naenae home, try and pinpoint the site of Wi Tako's Pa, and find out about the natural history of Naenae.

Listen to the introduction and download the map and audio, then put on your helmet for a bike tour around Naenae.

To download these as an audio file right click and choose "Save File as ..." on Windows or hold down the Control key and click the link on a Mac.
