Ford Motor Company Workshop

43 Seaview Road

30 July 2013 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Henry Ford. The motor company that he founded had plants all over the world including in Seaview.

This building was constructed in 1935 for the assembly of cars from imported parts.

During the Second World War the building was used for the production of munitions and explosives, as well as the construction of army jeeps.

The plant was closed in 1988 after Ford consolidated production at their factory in Wiri. The building remained empty for some years. It is now occupied by Placemakers.
