Thumbs Up Performance

Special performance from Thumbs Up members.

Music is one of the most popular activities at Thumbs Up and through music members interact socially and build friendships with others.

Thumbs Up Trust enables adults with intellectual disabilities to actively engage in the full life of their community through participation, contribution, and meaningful and respectful relationships with others.

Violin Performance

Join us for a performance by passionate violinist Catherine (age 8).

Catherine discovered her passion for violin at the age of 2, after meeting a brilliant violinist at a friend's birthday party and began lobbying her parents for lessons. For her third birthday, they relented, and she began her musical journey with a lovely teacher of the Suzuki method.

Good Vibrations Workshop

Explore your voice at our Good Vibrations workshop with singing teacher Charles Humphreys! From karaoke to coloratura, from jazz to opera, your voice can do it all – if you treat it correctly. This workshop is for ages 16+.

Bio: Charles Humphreys started voice training at 16, he can sing everything from James Brown soul to opera, and is a voice over artist. He has been teaching people to sing or speak properly and healthily for 15 years and loves seeing people’s confidence grow!

Arohanui Strings Performance

Hear the wonderful music performed by the children of Arohanui Strings.

Arohanui Strings is a Sistema-based music education initiative based in Lower Hutt. Their aim is to inspire children and youth to achieve their full potential, acquire values that favour their growth, and have a positive impact on both their lives and society. They use the pursuit of musical excellence and ensemble performance to bring about positive change in the lives of Hutt Valley children.
