October School Holidays

Celebrate all things Sci-Fi at Hutt City Libraries during the school holidays with some out of this world events.

Star Wars storytimes, interstellar Lego, wearable art, 3D printing, Jedi Academy, drama workshops, recycled robots and lots more!

School holiday events are for ages 5-12 unless otherwise specified.

Looking for something to do with your little ones? Baby Bounce & Rhyme (for ages 0-2) and Preschool Storytime (for ages 2-5) continue throughout the holidays. For days and times see Whats On.

Monday 9 October

What will the Hutt Valley look like in the distant future? Help create your own version of Hutt City in 3017!
War Memorial Library, 2pm

Paint your alien and design a habitat for them to live in! Booking required - please phone 04 560 1094 or visit Taita Library to book in.

Tuesday 10 October

Get creative and build your own interstellar creation from Lego. Planets, aliens, spacecraft, it’s up to you!

Join us at Inklings, an hour long monthly group for 9-12 year olds who love reading and having fun!

Wednesday 11 October

Wish to know more about stars? Find out how to see constellations and learn their history! (Ages 8-14)

Thursday 12 October

Get creative with Lego and build your own space station or space ship.
Moera Library, 11am

Help the three Billy Goats Gruff get to the other side of the river (where the grass is always greener) without being eaten by the troll. Use the materials provided to build a bridge, a boat, or anything else you can imagine.

Join The Drama Hutt for a FREE taster workshop at the library! The Drama Hutt provides quality drama classes aimed at little people aged 3-8 years old. Classes focus on drama skills, creativity, imagination, literacy and fun, and are run by an experienced, qualified drama teacher and mum. Our focus is to empower your little person, through communication, exploration and belonging. Spaces are limited.

Yoshinkan Kendo is running a Jedi Academy! Watch an action-packed kendo demonstration, learn how to hold a shinai sword, and see if you’ve got what it takes to defeat Darth Vader!
