Justices of the Peace

Members of the Hutt Valley & Districts Justices of the Peace Association run service desks at all of our libraries.

Justices of the Peace can assist you with the following:

  • Witnessing signatures
  • Certifying documents
  • Witnessing of Land Transfer and other documents
  • Taking of declarations, affidavits, or affirmations

Community Law Wellington and Hutt Valley Clinics

Community Law Wellington and Hutt Valley provides community legal services to meet unmet legal needs.

They provide free clinics to help you with any legal questions.

Emergency Water Tanks

Emergency Water Tanks can be purchased from Eastbourne, Naenae, and Petone Libraries.

In an emergency you'll need at least 3 litres of water per person per day - make sure you and your whānau are prepared!

The tanks cost $105, hold 200 litres, and are easy to install.

Curtain Bank Drop-off

The Petone Library is pleased to be the Lower Hutt drop-off point for the Wellington Curtain Bank from March to November.

We will accept good quality, mould-free, pre-loved curtains and fabric rolls (or large offcuts of fabric). We will not accept rods, tracks, hooks, blinds, or netting.

Need curtains? You can apply online at any time or ask at any of our libraries for an order form.
